Getting to the clinic from Ilkeston

10.3 miles from Ilkeston
About 26 min by car
About 50 min by bus, one change

Take the A610 towards Nottingham, then across to Mansfield Road via Valley Road (A6514), or go via the A609, a similar time. By bus allow around 50 minutes: trentbarton's two, then the 54 or 55 Grey Line.

Happy Ears is at 4 Marlborough Road, Woodthorpe, Nottingham NG5 4FG. Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 8am to 3pm, by appointment only.

Before you set off: a quick checklist

  • Have you softened the wax? Olive oil spray twice a day for three to five days, and at least two. Hard wax may not all come out in one visit.
  • Any pain, discharge or a temperature? See your GP or pharmacist first. Michele will not treat an ear that looks infected.
  • Is it for someone under 18? Happy Ears treats adults only.
  • Using a wheelchair? There are two small steps at the entrance. A standard manual wheelchair fits through the doors, a larger electric one does not.
  • Running late? Call 0115 647 1155 and let Michele know.

If everything checks out, you are ready. And if you booked one ear but both turn out to need doing, Michele can do both there and then, so you will not need a second trip for the other ear.
